  • Welding Works Summer Inspiration Camp
    Putnam County Charter School System (PCCSS), Georgia Power Company (GPC), Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), and Zachry partnered together to offer “Welding Works”, a unique Summer Inspiration opportunity to 8th and 9th grade students. The camp was a fun and innovative STEM experience through hands-on and project-based learning for beginning welders. The “Welding Works” Summer Inspiration camp was held June 5th-16th at Putnam County High School (PCHS). Welding instruction occurred Monday through Thursday and was led by CGTC and GPC instructors, with the assistance of current PCHS welding students. On Friday, June 6th, camp participants took a field trip to tour Georgia Power's Plant Scherer and on Friday, June 16th, a commencement ceremony concluded the camp.

  • Honors Night 2017
    PCHS held Honors Night Tuesday, May 16.  Over 90 underclassmen were honored at the first ceremony.  They were recognized for being Honor Roll Students and Highest Grade for their academics classes.  Several students also received Technical College honors from their coursework at Central Georgia Technical College.  After the underclassmen program, the Senior Class was honored.  23 Scholarships were awarded, Highest Grade Academics, Technical Credits, and Graduation Cords were presented.  Following those presentation, 45 Honor Graduate were recognized.  To be a honor graduation, a senior must have an overall academic weighted GPA of 90 or above.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Salutatorian and Valedictorian were presented.   The Salutatorian is the senior who has been enrolled at PCHS for at least seven semesters and has the second highest weighted GPA.  The Valedictorian is the senior with the highest weighted GPA.  Pictured below are PCHS 2017 Salutatorian Jared Coronado (left) and Valedictorian T.J.   • Ravi Hudson receives Award of Excellence!
    PCHS Senior Ravi Hudson was selected to receive an award by the Division for Special Education Services and Supports for her academics and extracurricular achievements.  She was honored at a reception hosted by Mr. Richard Woods, Georgia's School Superintendent.

     
  • Samantha Rawls to Cheer at Columbus State!
    Senior Cheerleader Samantha Rawls has committed to cheer at Columbus State University.  We look forward to seeing her cheer both on the sideline and competing at the next level.

  • From Eagle to Bulldog


    On March 31st, Putnam County High School Senior, Abigail Witcher, signed to play soccer with Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. Abigail has been playing soccer since she was two years old and is excited to continue her career with GMC. During her junior and senior year, Abigail has scored 35 goals. She plans to get her Pre-Nursing degree while studying at GMC and is ready to work hard in the Fall.
  • Aaron Lewis to play football at Georgia Southern
    From PCHS War Eagles to Georgia Southern Eagles, Senior Aaron Lewis will continue his football career at Georgia Southern.  He will be playing outside linebacker and safety.  Aaron will be majoring in Exercise Science. 


  • Carl Johnson signs with Middle GA Prep
    Congratulations to Carl Johnson as he takes the next step towards playing basketball in college.

  • Georgia Scholar Recognition
    Mr. T.J. Silva was recognized as a Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education. Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home. Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during the four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.
